@A1ArseKicker So you pay for F1 in your license fee?? Do you not get local news, radio, TV and off-the-charts-expenses value for money from the BBC? It's a simple story, the BBC refused to pay the fee. Sky paid it all up front. If you have a problem with that you should go to the Government and tell them that the BBC cut your entertainment in half for the price you paid for it. Go investigate instead of making ridiculous claims.

And it's understandable from his experience, why would he want to commentate races in 5 hour delay? He (like most diehard fans) want live F1 100% of the time. What Brundle likes most about Sky, is the money. "Who cares about the fans" hey Martin - So long as your doing alright out of it mate. I hope F1 viewing figures crash through the floor. Sky have taken away pretty much every sport we Brits have to offer. We already pay a bloody license fee, why should we pay more cash on top of that?? All of you know this has nothing to do with Sky or BBC! It's just Ecclestone again raping the sport for his own back pocket. Criticize either broadcaster as much as you want, but it's Ecclestone who dictates who gets what at what price. It's the same reason dreadful circuits in the Middle East and Asia? are replacing great circuits on an extended calender. Inadequate facilities? Or more money on the table?

Steve Rider really is being? an arsehole here. I can understand why Martin wants to commenate live on something rather than a tape, but it's still a shame that he's leaving BBC. Steve on the other hand really is cringeworthy, though. I was thinking, oh I'll watch both + flick between them, but if Steve's fronting Sky's coverage, I'm tempted not to bother and stick with the beeb.

@mrzomg99 Buddy, I don't need to drive a modern F1 car to know that? driving ANYTHING with an H pattern gearbox, clutch and very little downforce requires much more effort than an automatic with flappy paddles and increased downforce of modern F1 cars. Driving that Benetton in Monaco would require 4000 MANUAL gear changes. Pretty hard work if you ask me.

Using the rear to get around a turn? is arguably the fastest way to do it. Like Raikkonen and Schumacher does it. But it demands incredible car feel and reflexes. Perhaps that is why Schumacher is struggling a bit now. Because of his age that little extra edge got lost down the line. Just a guess.

@FranklinMarshalSpain His style we saw in the old generation Renaults came about because of their huge rear weight bias and how the car was built around the tyres.? He employed his massively aggressive style back then because that was the fastest way (at least for him) to drive the car. He doesn't drive that way anymore because the cars are no longer designed that way, as well as (correct me if I'm wrong here) weight bias having been standardised by the FIA.

Fernando Alonso seems? to have change his own driving style during the last 4 years. At the moment he is not as agressive than in 2005 or 2006. In my opinion he has improved his style and he knows when he has to be agressive and when not with the idea of saving the tyres.

@david40686 I think he meant that they like to get on the power early before they are fully out of the corner, letting the back end step out to help them get the car pointing in the right direction. A smooth driver like Jenson will not "floor the? throttle", they will gradually ease the power on to get a smooth and tidy exit from the corner.

@gprimeofx that is an unfair account of someone who tangled with senna in F3 and was the most successful driver on? the grid of 93 that didn't have active suspension! there are drivers out there who are fast, give them the right tools and they will win. what schumi did at Ferrari was nothing short of spectacular but would you put Rubens or Irvine down for not being fast? there are drivers who would have won in that ferrari, maybe not as domminent as schumi was but they would have still the same

You wouldnt even be able to take off in one of these things without stalling it. Now imagine driving Monaco at 200km/h in a car that gets to 100km/h? in just over 2 seconds and can violently become airborne from the slightest of knocks.
